Freelance – West-Flanders- Hybrid (2-3d in office)

For one of our main clients in West Flanders we are looking for an Android Developer

• Start date: ASAP
• Hybrid policy: 2-3 days per week onsite in Kortrijk Belgium
• Project duration: initial 6 months with most likely extension

Knowledge and experience

Key skills:

• developing embedded software/firmware on Android (5 years of relevant experience)
• developing Android Applications
• Kotlin/Java and C++

What you will do:

• Analyze the product requirements and translate them into specifications and architectural designs
• Develop back-end logic and modern user interfaces
• Optimize execution, robustness, and use of system resources
• Collaborate with the testers to identify open issues
• Keep track of bugs and fix open issues
• Provide proficient documentation for the developed software modules

Nice to haves but not a must:

• Python
• Android low level OS knowledge (knowledge of MDEP is a big plus)
• Knowledge of (embedded) Android internals
• Linux low level OS
• network communication (TCP/UDP…)
• multithreading (thread safety mechanisms…)
• (scaled) Agile way of working (scrum, kanban, safe, less, …)
• Git and/or Svn, CI/CD, TDD, automation
• Video/Audio processing, codecs, OpenGL / Gstreamer, Qt, Android media framework
• Security
• Devops and infrastructure

Other:

• Its a freelance assignment but we will happily offer a permanent contract in case you prefer it
