06 Sep First meeting in new offices
First “Mind Meeting” in new building
We hosted last Thursday (5th of Sept.) our next internal “Mind meeting” event aimed at fostering peer learning and content sharing amongst our 35+ FOSS software engineers. This gathering was held for the 1st time in our new offices and provided an excellent platform for team members to meet up, to exchange knowledge and discuss ongoing projects, and to explore the latest advancements in the embedded software market.
The event featured a variety of presentations and updates on company-wide topics, all led by Mind’s engineers and management. In addition to peer learning, this meeting also provided an overview of upcoming industry events, including the OSS Summit in Vienna (details here) and Kernel Recipes in Paris (see sponsorship).
These events, focused on open-source software and Linux kernel development, offer our Mind engineers opportunities to expand their knowledge and network with the broader tech community. Discussions at the internal event highlighted the relevance of these conferences to Mind’s ongoing projects and future development goals.
Typical topics of such internal “mind meetings” include info on optimizing real-time operating systems (RTOS), securing embedded devices in today’s customer environments, and leveraging new technologies in embedded systems. Each session allows team members to showcase innovative approaches, share solutions to common challenges in customer projects, and strengthen their embedded & FOSS expertise.
The evening ended with a drink incl. nice Moroccan snacks (pastilla’s, Briouate, Tabouleh, ..) to celebrate the move to new offices. Due to the continuous growth of the firm, both the EPS and Mind teams moved to a new, larger floor in a building next door on the “Arenberg Science Park” (Leuven). This will help attract additional embedded software talent and enable us to host customer roundtables in the near future!
