Job content

 

The system validation engineer does the functional and technical testing of products in development and the analysis of the test results. The Test Engineer ensures the quality of the end product by identifying bugs prior to customer exposure, resulting in the end user getting the best user experience.

  1. At least 3 years of experience is in system validation and embedded software testing
  2. Experienced with C, C++ and Python, ability to dig into
  3. Create test specifications based on requirements and/or develop test scripts within automated test environment
  4. Automatic test document generation based on existing framework
  5. Knowledge of wireless communication protocols such a BLE,WIFI,….
  6. Team player with excellent communication skills in English to perform a top assignment at our customer.

Projects will be performed both at our customers throughout Belgium and at Essensium’s premises in Leuven.  You will be assigned to different project over the year and the context can change regularly.  Hence, flexibility and adaptability are key!

Knowledge and experience

 

As a software and system validation engineer, you have following responsibilities:

 

  • Plan and perform test campaigns.
  • Design & execute test procedures.
  • Analyse data to detect anomalies and do recommendations for improvement of products.
  • Characterize and Report on performance.
  • Write scripts and programs to automate the execution of tests and data analysis.
  • Report the defects and follow-up on firmware adaptations.
  • Work in close co-operation with all disciplines involved in development of embedded products.

Specific appreciated skills & background:

Wi-Fi, UHF, Bluetooth, LTE, 3G/2G experience is a nice plus. CAN, USB, LAN COM RS32

Other important elements next to pure technical experience are a true passion for Open-Source Software, willingness to learn, be open and flexible, be a team player and be service minded to our customers.  Of course you have a driving license to work at our customers if required (some customer project are in their offices throughout Belgium)
