1. How do I access files on the FTP server?

The Virtex-II Pro port to the Insight Virtex-II Pro board code is only available on request to contact@mind.be. You will be sent an e-mail in response, containing your user ID and password.

You can download the files with a dedicated FTP client, but it is also possible to do this with a web browser. Specify the following URL:

ftp://userid:password@ftp.mind.be/Virtex2Pro/

where userid is the user ID provided to you, and password the password.

2. The kernel seems to hang on "Uncompressing Linux..."

This problem has been reported, and is under investigation. The problem occurs when the bitstream is uploaded to the FPGA via JTAG, when the FPGA's configuration mode is set to Master Serial (JP12: M2 closed, M1 closed, M0 closed). A work-around is to set the configuration mode to JTAG (JP12: M2 open, M1 closed, M0 open) when programming the bitstream via JTAG. The problem does not occur if bitstream is loaded from the PROM (or PROMs).

3. When I press Ctrl+C to interrupt a command, started from the command line on the serial console, nothing happens.

Download and place the /etc/inittab file on the flash filesystem (see Updates & Erratai) and reboot. A login prompt will now appear on the serial console, and the tty device is used instead of the console device.
